What people are saying about training at

Chimo Taekwondo

  • I am a 15-year-old girl who was seeking a place where I could truly belong. I came from another martial arts club and Master Large and the Chimo Taekwondo community made me feel like I was a part of the family from the first moment I walked into the club. The Masters, Instructors and students have become my mentors, friends, and my biggest cheerleaders. Each class is a step towards becoming stronger, not just physically but mentally as well. Every time I learn a new technique or earn another belt is a boost to my self-esteem. I even competed in my first tournament – something I never thought I would do! This martial art has taught me more than just self-defense; it has taught me self-worth. It has shown me that I am capable of more than I ever imagined. The support and encouragement I receive at Chimo has given me the courage to face challenges both in and out of the dojang with a confident and calm spirit. This is my second family, a place that welcomed me for who I am and inspires me to be the best version of myself. I am proud to be part of Chimo Taekwondo, and I am excited to see where this journey will take me.

  • My son has been at Chimo for 3 years now. He is autistic and has had trouble in the past in groups and can be selectively non-verbal. He has enjoyed being a part of this club and has felt comfortable with the amazing Instructors. This club has given him a safe environment to feel like he is always welcome and that he can accomplish his goals in life. As a parent couldn’t be more impressed with how they run their program and how all the Instructors are with the children.

  • My son Chris has been a student at Chimo Taekwondo for 5 years and he LOVES training there. I give the Instructors full credit for making the students work very hard but also making every class so much fun! Chris comes home every night with a sweaty shirt and falls right asleep. If you have an energetic kid, Chimo is a great place to burn off their energy.

  • My 6 year old son Izaiah recently started training at Chimo Taekwondo. He was very nervous and overwhelmed with learning all the moves but in a very short time the Instructors made him feel so comfortable and confident as a Beginner. They are extremely passionate about teaching the sport and have a special way with kids and carrying on with them to ensure they’re comfortable and having the best time. My son says he wishes he could go to Taekwondo everyday. Would highly recommend to anyone with small children interested in martial arts.
